I am looking forward to sharing with you some of my ideas on the easier part of the game of golf, the short game, specifically putting. In 1996, I won the United States Senior U.S. Open and decided shortly after that to set down in stone some of my ideas on what makes a world class putter. I created the book, PUTT TO WIN. I've played the PGA and the Senior PGA Tour continuously for the past 38 years. I've had a great success. I've won 25 times. Five of those wins were majors attributing to my putting and prowess around the greens. I can dictinctly remember two of the majors. The first, the 1976 PGA Championship at Congressional CC. The second, the TPC at Michigan, the Players Championship in 1992. One, I faced a fifteen footer, the other a twelve footer. Both to avoid playoffs, both putts went dead in the heart. They are the result of a positive attitude, and the ability and thought process that I knew I can make those putts. It's a wonderful feeling and I look forward in sharing it with you.

In the 38 years that I have played on tour, I have played countless pro-ams, many clinics. In fact, in the 70's and 80's, I was called the King of Corporate Outings because I would do 80-90 a year. So many of you this is is probably a second time. I am really excited for you to be able to see and feel the ideas that make me a good putter. It's not a mechanical thing thats the most important thing to you. It has to be combined with your mental. They say golf is 80% mental. I definitely know that around the greens it's truly the case.

I want you to visualize two people approaching the 18th green. The one on the left is relied on a good swing, great ball striker, but now approaches after hitting the 18th green a putt that she or he has to make to win something. The person on the right is also on the green in two but relies on a good short game to have his or her success on the golf course noted. Which one of those players do you want to be? I hope you become a good short game player. I want you to become a short game thinker. I want you to be positive about it and I am really excited that my book PUTT TO WIN is now come to life in video. You will be able to see first hand what is going to make you a much better golfer.

Sincerely,
Dave Stockton
